Yes. Shipping is free on every order within India. We don't ship overseas yet.

We dispatch every order within 3 business days. Delivery usually takes 2 to 7 business days from when you order, depending on where you are. You get tracking updates on WhatsApp.

You can exchange it. Every order gets one free exchange for clothing, as long as the piece is unworn, with tags and in its original packaging. If you'd rather return it, tell us within 7 days of delivery. Our returns policy has the details, including items that aren't eligible.

For prepaid orders, the refund goes back to your original payment method within 10 business days of us receiving and checking the return. For cash on delivery orders, we refund as store credit. The Rs 150 COD fee isn't refundable.

Better Basics is an Indian basics brand. We design and make T-shirts, polos, shirts, bottoms, winterwear, sleepwear and a few accessories in-house in India (Delhi-NCR), with fabric and fit built for Indian bodies. We started in 2024. We keep the range small on purpose, so every piece gets the same attention to fabric, fit and finish.

If you like Uniqlo's simple, well-made basics, we're worth trying. The difference is where we design for. Our fits are built for Indian bodies, most men's styles come in Short, Regular and Tall lengths, our fabrics are chosen for Indian weather, and prices are in rupees without import costs. Exchanges are domestic and quick.

H&M and Zara are built around fast-changing trends and large volumes. We do the opposite: a small range of basics we make in-house in India, in bio-washed cotton with a gold finish, and keep improving rather than replacing. A piece costs more than a fast-fashion T-shirt, and it's made to be worn for years.

M&S makes good basics. In India most of its range is imported, with international pricing and fits designed for other markets. Ours are made in India, fitted for Indian bodies, offered in three lengths on most men's styles, and priced without import costs.

Both. We make a full range for women and men: T-shirts, tops, tanks, crops, polos, shirts, pants, winterwear and sleepwear, in sizes XXS to 3XL for women and XS to 3XL for men. The same fabrics and standards run across both.

Our Supima range is coming soon. Supima is a trademarked, American-grown extra-long-staple cotton. The long fibres make a smoother, stronger yarn. The fibre is only part of what makes a good T-shirt, though: how it's knitted, washed and finished matters as much. All our cotton is bio-washed and given a gold finish, and our Supima pieces will be too. We'll link the range here when it launches.

Bio-washing is an enzyme treatment applied to the fabric after knitting. It removes loose surface fibres, so the fabric is smoother, softer and less likely to pill. The gold finish is a further softening step that improves drape. All our fabrics go through both, which is why they feel soft from the first wear and stay that way.

Supima fibre is excellent: long, strong and soft. But a Supima label only tells you where the cotton came from, not how the fabric was knitted, dyed or finished. When you compare T-shirts, look at the fabric weight (GSM), the finish and the stitching as well as the fibre. Our own Supima range is coming soon, finished the same way as the rest of our fabrics.

Our everyday T-shirts are 180 GSM, in cotton or a cotton-modal blend, light enough for Indian summers. Our Heavy line is 250 GSM, 100% 16-count cotton: thicker, more structured, good for layering and cooler months. Rib pieces are 240 GSM and textured slub pieces 170 GSM. Every product page lists the exact fabric and GSM.

No. All our fabrics are pre-washed and pre-shrunk before cutting, so what you receive is the size it stays. As one customer wrote: "The neck holds very well and the fabric doesn't shrink."

Because of how they're made. We use bio-washed fabrics with a gold finish, heavier options such as 250 GSM 100% cotton, and we cut, stitch and check every piece in-house in India. Budget brands work to a lower price point with lighter fabric and less finishing. Our prices are set once; we don't inflate them to run sales.

In India. We make our clothes in-house in Delhi-NCR, from cutting and stitching to finishing and quality checks. We don't design in one country and outsource production to another.

It means one company handles most steps of making the product instead of outsourcing them. Many brands buy finished fabric and send it to contract factories. We handle fabric selection and finishing, cutting, stitching and final checks ourselves, which lets us control quality and change things quickly when customers tell us something isn't right.

We make a small range of basics designed to be worn for years rather than a season, and we don't run drops or chase trends. We start with natural fibres, mostly cotton and modal, and use polyester only where it improves the garment, like fleece and performance wear. We say so on every product page. We make our clothes in India, for customers in India.

Yes. We price each piece once and don't run seasonal sales or inflate prices to discount them later. The savings we offer are on bundles and a welcome offer for new subscribers.

Yes, that's what we design for. Most international brands size for other markets, so shoulders, torso length and proportions often don't sit right on Indian frames. We test fits on real people here, offer three fits (Slim, Regular and Relaxed) and, on most men's styles, three lengths. One customer wrote that "the proportions feel right".

Three fits: Slim for a structured look, Regular for everyday wear and Relaxed for the heat. Women's silhouettes also include fitted, flowy, boxy, cropped and A-line styles, plus high-waist flare and straight-leg pants. Men's include slim fit stretch, regular and oversized crew necks, polos and button-downs.

Yes. Most of our men's T-shirts, polos, shirts and bottoms come in three lengths: Short (2 inches shorter than Regular), Regular and Tall (2 inches longer). Only the body length changes; sleeves and shoulders follow your size. Pick your usual size, then the length on the product page. Our women's short sleeve polo, long sleeve button-down and bottoms also come in three lengths. See them all in Short & Tall Lengths.

Every order gets one free exchange for clothing. Returns can be requested within 7 days of delivery, with a small shipping deduction. One customer wrote: "I had to exchange size for 2 products. The team was so helpful and prompt." Full details are in our returns policy.

For men, the Short Sleeve Tee: it's the piece our customers re-order most. For women, try the Flowy Fit Top or The Better Tank. If you want to feel the difference in fabric weight, add a 250 GSM Heavy piece.

For yoga, walks and light training, yes. One customer wore our rib tank as a base layer on a yoga and hiking retreat. For harder sessions, our Performance Shorts and Trousers are 170 GSM polyester stretch, made to move and dry quickly.

That's what we choose our fabrics for. For heat, our 180 GSM cotton and cotton-modal T-shirts and 170 GSM textured slub pieces are the lightest. Our 250 GSM Heavy pieces are warmer, better for winter, evenings and air-conditioned offices. Our winterwear adds 350 GSM cotton fleece and 280 GSM polar fleece for colder months.

Both. Our polos, button-downs and mandarin collar shirts work in smart-casual offices, and the Heavy polo keeps its collar shape. One customer wrote: "I can wear it with linen pants and it looks dressy, and then change into my tights and exercise."

Yes. For women: High-Waist Flare Pants, Straight-Leg Track Pants and Relaxed Sweatpants. For men: All Day Pants, All Day Shorts, Relaxed Shorts, Relaxed Sweatpants and Performance Trousers and Shorts. Most bottoms come in Short, Regular and Tall lengths. For a long time the choice was cheap basics with thin fabric and weak construction, or imported brands priced for other markets and sized for other bodies. We started Better Basics to fill that gap: well-made basics, made in India, for Indian bodies, at a fair price. As one customer put it: "Finally a brand in India that I can buy basics from."

Mostly fabric and finishing. Cheaper T-shirts are usually lighter fabric with little finishing, so they lose shape and softness sooner. A better T-shirt uses a heavier or better yarn, finishing like bio-washing, pre-shrinking, careful stitching at the collar and hem, and a fit that suits your body. Ours are 180 GSM for everyday and 250 GSM for Heavy.

Hand or machine wash cold (up to 30°C) on a gentle cycle with similar colours. Our fabrics are pre-washed and pre-shrunk, so they keep their size. Each product page lists its specific care instructions.

Four things. Fabric: check the GSM (heavier means more structure) and the finish, such as bio-washing. Construction: look at the stitching at the collar, cuffs and hem. Shrinkage: pre-shrunk fabric keeps its size. Fit: the shoulders and length should suit your body, not a generic size chart.
